Plastic Free Month: Glass Not Plastic

Plastic Free Month: Glass Not Plastic

Not only does July bring the hope of sunshine and summer holidays across the UK and beyond it also introduces what has become known around the world as Plastic Free Month. The campaign, which was founded by Rebecca Prince-Ruiz and a small team of West Australian government officials in 2011, encourages people to use less or no plastic for a whole month in the name of reducing our waste and saving our planet.

So, what are Savant Health doing to help?

As Plastic Free month approaches, we want to put a spotlight on this important awareness event and provide suggestions for how to get involved.

The benefits of plastic free products

On the surface, plastic-free products help us to reduce the amount of plastic waste which piles up every year. The simple fact is that people in the UK alone throw away around 295 billion pieces of plastic every year with most of this single-use which cannot be recycled or reused in any way.

And while some brands and organisations are making waves in the reusability of these waste products, here at Savant Health we believe in eliminating the use of plastic as much as possible by stocking a range of more environmentally friendly alternatives.

The importance of change in the supplement and vitamin market

Plastic is not exclusive to the supplement and vitamin market however our market is significant enough to make a huge impact. The popularity of vitamins has seen huge increase over the last few years and shows no signs of slowing, with sales forecasted to reach approximately £559 million – a further increase of 13% - by 2025. What this means is not just that vitamins are popular, but that the vitamin market and its many brands are in a powerful position in terms of driving real and important change.

And that’s where Udo’s Choice and One Nutrition come in.

The Savant Health way

As two of our most popular brands, we are proud to see One Nutrition and Udo’s Choice opting for glass packaging instead of plastic.

As well as being a much stronger and more durable packaging option, glass is 100% recyclable and is made from naturally occurring ingredients making it infinitely more sustainable, better for the environment, and even better for your health. Not only that, but glass can be used up to 40 times before it needs to be recycled, with the Udo’s Choice and One Nutrition jars and glass containers living on in our customers’ homes as containers, storage solutions, snack holders, and much more.

A closer look

The Udo’s Choice and One Nutrition range are both securely packaged in glass containers, which means that the products inside are kept fresher for longer, safe from harmful chemicals and able to be reused again and again.

Udo’s Choice offer a range of premium sourced supplements supporting overall wellbeing, as well as gut and digestive health.

Best of all, all Udo’s Choice products are securely contained in glass bottles with a recyclable cardboard outer packaging where required.

One Nutrition, meanwhile, is all about wellness in every aspect of life, supporting energy levels, the immune system, natural body functions, and more and it does all that through a range of premium and ethically sourced supplements and vitamins. Delivered in both a capsule and oral spray format, One Nutrition’s products are all designed and created with sustainability in mind secured in brown, amber glass bottles and packaged in recyclable cardboard boxes.

How you can support Plastic Free Month

When you stock any product from One Nutrition, Udo’s Choice, or any other sustainable health and wellbeing brand you can showcase your support for sustainability and the environment.

This July is the perfect opportunity to start promoting the importance of sustainable production methods and plastic-free packaging.
